Dave makes me want to cry for a few reasons. He was abandoned (not even surrendered to the shelter but abandoned) on 10/21. He is 10(!!) years old, and he has skin issues from neglect. Despite all of this, he is such a sweet boy. He's a staff favorite because he is so friendly and lovable. This poor senior has had such a bad life in his later years and he is in need of and deserving of a good home and family now. The shelter is so full that he likely doesn't have much time. 🏼🏼 #5123459

If Pebbles dies, I may lose my mind. Poor girl is still in that kennel, and the shelter is so full. I don't know how much time she has left. She is always so happy and has so many kisses to give. I saw that there is rescue interest, but they need a long term foster. She is in the @downey_playgroups and is a staff and volunteer favorite. She's a doll! She is also available for adoption so I hope the right family gets her in time. 🏼🏼 Last post: UPDATE: $575 pledges; adopter or FOSTER & rescue needed🏼 This is a repost for one of my favorite dogs at the #downeyanimalshelter Pebbles. When I called to check on her today, I found out that she was dumped at the shelter because her owners had a new baby. As of this morning, she still had no interest and no requests for a temperament test. I'm so worried that she will be one of the unlucky ones. She is still tucked in the last kennel behind a large fan, so it's easy to miss her. Pebbles' medical notes indicate that she is overweight (which makes her so huggable though) and has alopecia which are the round patches of flaky skin all over her back. Pebbles is such a lovebug, and I can't imagine her being bad with kids. She's just a big girl! Pebbles is only 3 and needs a new home before it's too late. Any long term fosters out there? Interested parties, please call to request a temperament test. She currently has an upper respiratory infection which could also put her at risk if she doesn't get well (and space runs out). 🏼 #5114236
