Happy Monday! This week I want you to try something new. Last night @samlivits and I tried meditating. What is it exactly? First, there are 2 types: 1⃣ Concentration Meditation where you focus on one thing, like your breath or a flickering candle and try to let your mind clear. And 2⃣ Mindfulness Meditation where it’s ok to have wandering thoughts so long as you’re aware of them, but you don’t engage with them. The benefit of meditation is supposed to be liberation of the mind from attachment to things you cannot control, such as external circumstances or strong internal emotions. Through practice, the liberation you create can bring you towards inner harmony. How did it go? Well last night when I was “meditating”, all I could think of were all the different color scheme possibilities for the wedding. I mean…I don’t really think that’s meditating, but at least I was just focused on ONE aspect of the wedding…not everything! Haha. I will try again tonight and see where I go this time.
